Development Goals
The development goals of the Office of Institutional Research are as follows:
(1) Establish a high-efficiency decision-making organization for institutional research: The Office of Institutional Research is an independent unit directly subordinate to the President. The Office director shall be appointed by the President, must be the rank of full-time associate professor or higher, and must possess institutional operation experience. The Office consists of three work groups to implement institutional affairs, improve learning outcomes, and rapidly devise solutions for identified problems.
(2) Develop a monitoring and rapid response mechanism for institutional problems: To provide a reliable source of data for institutional research, the Office adopts a problem-oriented approach and assessment model that can monitor problems, detect abnormal conditions, make rapid responses, perform strength-weakness cross-analysis, and help construct practical solutions to drive decision-making.
(3) Apply the PDCA cycle to institutional research–related proposals: (1) Plan (P) based on environmental factors and clients. (2) Do (D) the plan. (3) Check (C) the progress towards achieving each evaluation indicator based on the University’s performance in each measure and implement quality control. (4) Take action (A) in standardizing successful experiences.
(4) Establish a system with front-end visualization analysis and back-end data storage functions: Develop a cross-platform, integrative database system with data standardization functions for data storage. The system is aimed at analyzing problems, devising response measures, and serving as a source for statistical analysis data that can be used to develop institutional systems. Additionally, the system is expected to present data in a graphical form to enable users to rapidly understand the University’s performance, problems encountered, and feedback received, thereby providing a reference for making improvements and decisions.
(5) Establish comprehensive learning outcome evaluation mechanisms and improve learning outcomes: Improve learning outcomes and establish evaluation mechanisms for student recruitment, enrollment and accommodation, studies, and graduation. These mechanisms should focus on implementing student learning alarm and remedial systems, optimizing the overall quality of student internships, and providing quality assurance for student internship outcomes.
